Tiramisu and Grappa: combination approved!

Tiramisu and Grappa: it was possible! The answer comes from the evening organized by the section of Vicenza dell’Anag (National Association of Grappa Testers) in our distillery.

The protagonists were three Tiramisu prepared by the skilful banqueter, Perla Raschini, and four of our grape distillates to create a combination more than usual. To check this combination, a thick audience of 60 guests, most of them, testers registered at Anag, but also simple curious and passionate visitors.

The Perla’s Tiramisu presented three variants to the recipe: Traditional Tiramisu (with egg, mascarpone cheese, sugar, coffee, sponge fingers, bitter cocoa), Tiramisu with chocolate chips (with sponge fingers set apart, not soaked in coffee) and Tiramisu with fruits, stuffed with peaches and melon. To accompany them, four grape distillates from our production: our grape distillate Uva&Uva, our Tocai Rosso grappa, our aged grappa, La Scura Riserva, of 30 months and our aromatic Muscat grappa, Fior d’Arancio.

At the end of the tasting, the exchange of opinions was so intense. The more successful combinations were those with the Tocai Grappa, whose alcohol content perfectly embrace with the fat of the mascarpone cream. Our Aged Grappa was also highly appreciated, especially with the Traditional Tiramisu, while the Muscat grappa Fior d'Arancio, extraordinary full of perfumes, would need more aromatic and persistent dishes.

Interesting combination, which opens new horizons, to intensify with other variants and recipes more elaborate.
