This Aged Grappa is obtained from the expert distillation of fermented red grape pomace originating from the Veneto region.
Distilled according to a traditional method, this grappa is aged in 320-liter Allier oak barrels for over 12 months. It is harmonious, full-bodied, yet not aggressive, to the palate, with hints of vanilla, yeasts and honey.
It pairs well with semi-dark chocolate or with good medium-aged cheese.

Ingredients
This grappa is obtained from the expert distillation of red grape pomace originating from the Veneto region.
Traditional method distillery
FRATELLI BRUNELLO’s distillery, has used since the beginning a few discontinuous stills that are still in operation. It provides low-pressure direct steam at low temperatures. It consists of 4 copper heating boilers, just like the traditional system. The distillation cycle is very slow and involves the processing of small batches of pomace. Each distillation cycle lasts one hour to one hour and a half.
Maturation and aging
After being stored in inert stainless steel tanks for at least 8 months to improve its smoothness, Grappa La Scura is transferred to our sealed warehouse, where it ages inside 350-liter Allier oak new or second hand barrels for over 12 months. It is during this time that the slow and gradual transfer of color, aromas and toasting takes place.
Tasting
With a straw yellow color that varies depending on the batch, this Grappa has a fairly intense aroma, with hints of vanilla, yeasts and honey. It is harmonious, full-bodied, yet not aggressive, to the palate. It has good personality and drinkability.
Serving and pairing
It should be served between 12° and 16° C in a small tulip-shaped glass. It pairs well with semi-dark chocolate, with good medium-aged (12 months) cow’s milk cheese or with a nice cigar.
